FALKLAND HILL TRAIL RACE 2020

COVID-19 GUIDANCE

Scottish Government Covid-19 Guidance must be followed before, during and after the race. Full details can be found here: https://www.gov.scot/coronavirus-covid-19/

Please respect all competitors, race officials, volunteers and members of the general public.

Please be advised that under no circumstances should you attend this event if you:

  • Have been in contact with someone with COVID-19 in the last 14 days.
  • Have been overseas to a country on the quarantine list or exposed to someone with COVID-19 in the last 14 days.
  • Have COVID-19 symptoms (self-isolate for 7 days) or are feeling unwell.
  • Have been told to self-isolate as part of the contact tracing measures in place.

Under NO circumstances whatsoever should you swap bib numbers with anyone else. This is a requirement for the Track & Trace system.

Spectators should not attend this event to ensure that physical distancing guidance can be adhered to.

By lining up to start this race you are confirming that you have read all the Covid-19 safety guidelines and rules of competition and that you agree with them.

PRE-START

The event is planned to have wave starts up to a maximum of 5 people in each wave. Enough time will be planned between wave starts to ensure physical distancing. A starting list will be drawn up to inform entrants of where and when to wait for their wave start. This schedule will be available online and/or emailed to participants in advance of the day. The start time and wave number will also be written onto your race number.

Please note: It is your responsibility to get to the start in plenty of time to join your start wave. You can only start with your allotted wave. If for any reason you miss your wave or attempt to start with another wave your time will not be recorded.

TOILETS

Public toilets are available adjacent to the Falkland Community Hall. All attendees must use the hand sanitiser located at the toilets before entering and after exiting the toilets.

 WATER

The race organiser is unable to provide any water or drinks. Entrants must bring their own hydration/nutrition.

BIB NUMBER COLLECTION & MEDALS

Registration will be in the car park at the Falkland Community Hall. Please note that this is a 15 minute walk from the start line so please allow plenty of time.

Registration will be open from 12:45.

Please keep 2 metres apart whilst in the queue to collect your bib number.

Medals will be handed out when you collect your bib number.

Your race start time and start wave will be written on to your race bib.

CHANGING FACILITIES

There will be no changing facilities. Please come ready to run.

BAGGAGE

There will be no baggage storage. Entrants should leave any belongings in their own vehicles or make other arrangements.

DURING THE RACE

No drafting (running directly behind the runner in front). Physical distancing must always be maintained during the race. If overtaking or gaining on another runner then please run wide. Faster runners should be respectful to slower runners and shout “passing left”, “passing right” as applicable. Runners who are being passed should not impede the passing runner.

No spitting.

No litter dropping.

AFTER THE RACE

At the end of the race, finishers should disperse quickly away from the finish line. Do not sit or lie down within or near the finish area. Do not congregate around the finish area. Move to an open space and leave the event site as soon as possible following the conclusion of your run.

RACE RESULTS & PRIZES

There will be no prize-giving or results available on the day of the race. Results will be posted online the following day and prizes will be delivered to all winners as soon as practical after the race.
